Every child wants to know where they came from (we mean the family history part). And there’s nothing more fun (or educational) than having them create their own family tree. During the process, your kids will learn all about their relatives, hear great family stories, see where they fit in and glow with a sense of family pride.

The typical family tree has a large tree with the names of each generation on the hanging branches. But that’s just a starting point. Encourage your kids to make a tree that’s more like a photo album — with pictures, anecdotes and family keepsakes. Have your kids add their personality to the tree by creating their own artwork, funky borders and colorful illustrations.

As your kids embark on this fun project, let them know they can always count on the paper to do this project and the forests to be around forever.
